I just moved to SA, so we are new to the area, and I was called by someone representing a place called the ';Summit'; in New Braunfels.
They said that we were gauranteed a prize if we came for a tour of their campground/park/facility thingy. I asked what the purpose was; the woman said it was their 25th anniversary and they were just wanted exposure/publicity. So all I had to do was show up at the appointed time, take the 1 1/2 hour tour, and I she said I would get a $500 shopping spree to WalMart or a trip to Vegas.
Neither of these prizes really appealed to me, but I told her I would come anyway. I realize that the purpose of the tour was to entice people to buy homesites or memberships.
The day before, the woman called me to confirm I was coming, and I explained that it would just be me, since my husband had something come up. She said I couldn%26#39;t come by myself! I asked why, and she said ';because sometimes people get divorced and try to fight over the prizes we give away'; ???
The response was totally confusing - it didn%26#39;t make sense, so it made me suspicious and I ended up canceling.
Did I almost walk into some kind of scam, or was this legit?
The Summit?
scam! they want you and your husband there to sell you a timeshare! they thrive on pressure sales, and the prizes never live up to what they claim. don%26#39;t do it....ever. you never get anything worthwhile for free. avoid these evil people like the plague.
