Family Hike around San Antonio?

Can anyone recommend a nice family hike in the SA area? Something scenic %26amp; maybe around 1.5 miles in length.

I read about the Panther Canyon Trail in New Braunfels which sounds okay but am wondering about other options. We will be visiting in March.

There are several good places to hike closer to San Antonio. Friederich Wilderness Park, Eisenhower Park, and Walker Ranch all come to mind. There are also paved jogging/walking trails in Brackenridge Park.

The descriptions on this link will help you in locating hiking possibilities:

For a nice urban walk I%26#39;d suggest Brackenridge Park. Many of the trails have just been improved. There are several pieces of art along the way now. Of course there%26#39;s the zoo and the Witte museum in the general area and a miniature train that make a big circuit. At the far north side of the park you see some very unique sculpture - concrete made to look like trees, one of these pieces is a bridge that leads to the headwaters of the San Antonio River. Just the other side of Hilderbrand (busy street, but navigable) is Incarnate word University. It too would be a nice urban walk. There%26#39;s a beautiful spring that also feeds the San Antonio River. On the far west side of the park is the Japanese Gardens built on the site of an old cement quarry. While its not in its prime right now, I think the rock buildings and walls are very interesting.

There are also several nice restaurants just outside the park. I would recommend any of these - Joseph%26#39;s Bakery, W.D. Deli, Goodtime Charlies, and the Bar-B-Que place on the west side of the park (I can%26#39;t for the life of me remember the name.)
