Good afternoon everyone, I have a brother in law who recently moved down to McAllen, TX who we are planning to visit in May. The idea is to fly into San Antonio (Sat) with my husband, Mother in law and 2 kids (4yr and 2yr) Spend a day at Sea World, see the Alamo and River walk. (Sun %26amp; Mon) and drive down to McAllen on Tuesday and fly back to Boston Fri or Sat. I am looking for a good/budget hotel in San Antonio that offers 2 bedroom suites and is family friendly. And is conveniant to Sea World. We are planning on renting a car. Any other not to miss attractions, would be nice to hear about as well. Thanks.

Have you tried the Embassy Suites? If I remember correctly there is one not too far away.
I definitely recommend Hotel Contessa on the Riverwalk. It%26#39;s practically brand new and the location can%26#39;t be beat. I believe it%26#39;s an all-suite hotel and the layout is like Embassy Suites...but about 100% nicer!
Here is a little tip for you. Every year the Westin La Cantera Resort (best known as a golf resort) offers a summer special. You get a room for two nights and 4 tickets to Six Flags Fiesta Texas for, $299. Even if you don%26#39;t want to go to the park, you can quickly sell the tickets in front of the park, which is located just down the hill from the hotel, which sits atop a rocky hill with beautiful golf courses. http://www.westinlacantera.com/
The hotel offers incredible views of the golf courses and surrounding ';Hill Country.'; They also have an exceptional swimming pool.

You would need to call the hotel to get the specific dates when the special is offered but if it fits into your schedule, you won%26#39;t find a better deal, or nicer place to stay.
Otherwise, you can%26#39;t go wrong staying on the river walk. I would recommend, however, that you choose a location that is more centrally located on the walk. Some of those mentioned, while good bargains, are quite far from the activities. There is still a good portion of the walk that is undeveloped, except for the hotels. If you stay at one of those, you will find yourself walking quite a while just to get to the restaurants and shops. This can be a pain when you have been gone all day and have tired children you end up carrying all the way back to the hotel!
I would recommend the Hyatt, Mariot, or La Mansion as ones that are very nice and centrally located.
