We will be flying into Austin and spending a day %26amp; night then heading to New Braunfels for the water park - flying back out of Austin - How long a drive to New Braunfels and what type of daily traffic should we know about?
Coming in on a Wednesday at 3 pm and departing on a Saturday at 9 am.

About 50 miles- give it about 70 minutes because of traffic, a little longer when you go in the early morning or late afternoon rush hour.
Heading to Schlitterbahn how far
It really depends on where in the city you are staying- if you are near the south, you should have little or no trouble leaving town for New Braunfels that morning once you pass William Cannon/Slaughter area, coming back will be a bit more hectic once you get north of the same area that evening. Try to leave NB as late as possible to miss the rush hour traffic in Austin. There are great restaurants to visit post Schliterbaun, so get a bite to refuel before heading back to town.
