Hello. We%26#39;re going to be staying at the Westin City Center over a weekend. Need advise about where to park. Low price is important, but so is safety and ability to get in and out at will. We will have DART passes, so even if we need to ride a little, that might be OK.

There is a parking garage at Westin City Center; do you know what they charge overnight? Which I%26#39;m sure has security, etc.
The only cheap thing I can think of is parking your car at Mockingbird Station (free)...you%26#39;d have to ride the Dart train up to your car. The area is not monitored, but most likely safe for your car overnight. I%26#39;ve never had a problem, but I%26#39;ve only parked for a few hours.
There are lots behind Westin City Center, but they are used by commuters - not really an overnight situation.

Just the other side of the hotel and the train station there is on the street parking for what I remember is $3 a night. It%26#39;s a small lot with one of those boxes to put the money in for your space. Definitely leave nothing in the car, but otherwise would be safe walking to and from the hotel. I used to park there when I took my exchange student to the skating rink. I%26#39;ll try and drive down there tomorrow and see if anything%26#39;s changed and make sure I%26#39;m remembering correctly, too.
Thanks for the great replies, pepper and ChrystinP. I really appreciate your help.
OK, here%26#39;s the skinny on on the street type parking.
There are two lots directly across from the hotel with automated payment options. One of them was $5 until 5 AM, and then you had to pay for the day, but I didn%26#39;t see a way to pay for the night, and the next AM.
The next lot had an automated device, but I couldn%26#39;t tell how it worked without actually paying for a ticket.
The lot that I park at when I go to the hotel is on the south side of the hotel There is a DART train station and on just the other side there is a Parking Company of America lot, that was the former parking lot for an old school building that%26#39;s behind fencing. (Maybe 70 feet total from the building door.) It is $5 for the night, and $2.75 for the entire day, which starts at 7AM--no in-and-out privileges. In this one you pay the money into a lockbox. You could probably put $7.75 in the lock box with a note that you%26#39;re paying the evening and the next day. They also had a phone number to call for info 214.874.0468. If you use this one, I would park in the spaces that are right next to the train stop, where the vehicle can be seen from the station area.
There is also on the street parking meter spaces. There are spaces close to the PCA lot on the south side of the hotel (eastern side of the street), and there are spaces almost directly across from the hotel on the western side of the street). There is no fee after 6PM, but the car must be moved by 7AM. Those spaces would be in plain view throughout the night by passers-by.
Again, don%26#39;t leave anything in the car, but the vehicle itself should be safe, and you should be safe, too, walking to and from these parking options.
