Visiting Johnson City with our kids in March07'

We will be visiting there this March to see the nice hillcountry with our children. Are there any locals out there that can give us some tips of great dining and neat places to see?

Pedernales State Park is nice for hiking.....LBJ Ranch is good if you like history. Hill country Cupboard has some hearty breakfasts. Whittington%26#39;s for some really tasty jerky treats.....then of course there%26#39;s Fredericksburg just down the road.....many good restaurants and shopping.

Thanks for posting this, and thanks TexasHam for pointing in the LBJ direction... a little research and I found that they%26#39;ll be having Kite Day on March 24th.... the kids and I will be there!!

Here is a link that will show you some of the neat stuff to see related to the LBJ Ranch and State Park:

Will you have a car, how old are your kids, how long are you staying, and how far are you willing to drive for one outing?

There are lots of good places to eat in Marble Falls (such as the Bluebonnet Cafe) if you%26#39;re willing to drive there. It%26#39;s a straight shot up Hwy 281, about 25 minutes.
