My family (2 adults + 11 yr old and 15 yr old boys) is traveling to San Antonio this weekend to escape the snow in Ohio.
Can someone tell me more about the Mardi Gras Arts %26amp; Craft Show and the Mardi Gras River Parade 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, the 18th?
Any tips on whether we should attend the show and parade given that we want to see other sites like the Alamo, missions, etc. in a 2 1/2 day time span How big of a deal are these? (How crowded, too?)
Thanks!
Mardi Gras craft show and parade
this parade won%26#39;t be nearly as crowded as the Fiesta parades that happen in April, so this will be a good event to take the family as far as crowds are concerned. I don%26#39;t think it will be overly crowded, but there should be enough people to make it a festive event. There will be art/craft booths at different points on the Riverwalk with folks selling jewelry, candles, things made of wood, clothes, and who knows what......as far as the parade is concerned, i%26#39;ve never been, but i%26#39;ve seen footage from years gone by...it will basically be small flat bottom boats floating by with people throwing beads and candy to the crowd. by no means will it be wild like New Orleans.....quite tame in comparision...but a perfect family event if the weather is nice and sunny.
