Need moderate priced hotel in nice safe area.

Hi!

My wife, 11 year old son and I are planning a trip to Dallas this August(This is the only month I can get off from work).

We are looking for a pleasant hotel/motel with an outdoor pool that is not real expensive(100-125 per night), that is in a nice neighborhood and is strategically located so we are close to some nice things like good shopping and good restaurants.

I%26#39;ve done some research and there are clusters of hotels in areas like the Galleria Mall, Arlington and Love Field but I don%26#39;t know which area would be a good choice. Downtown is not out of the question but the hotels seem pricey.

Basically we want to check out the market district, six flags, eat well, explore some nice shopping areas and check out where the Dallas Cowboys play.

I appreciate your advice.

You might consider the Wyndham in Arlington. It has a huge pool and is right next to Six Flags and the Ballpark. It gets mixed reviews but we have enjoyed it the times we have stayed there to go to a game. It is close enough to the TRE train station at Centerpoint that you could ride the train into Dallas and go to some places there as well as into Fort Worth. For malls, If you want to check out the Galleria, you could drive but I would ride the DART train up to Northpark instead- it is a shopping experience. And Arlington has the Parks Mall fairly close to the Wyndham.

Are you going to have a car?

Another Wyndham that would be a good choice is on I-635 (Galleria area). The webrate is $134 per night which is a prepay rate, but I%26#39;d call them and see what they can do over the phone.

There is also a Fairfield Inn in the Market Center area that%26#39;s pricing on the web at $129 (don%26#39;t have to prepay).

I think your family would enjoy either Arlington as Poodleone suggested, the Market Center area, or the Galleria area much more than the Love Field area.
