Other hotel close to Renaissance

Considering convention in April at Renaissance. Room rates are

astronomical at Renaissance. Other close by hotels I could walk to from the Renaissance that are safe? Suggestions? I don%26#39;t want to rent a car if I don%26#39;t have too.

Other hotel close to Renaissance

I am not aware of a hotel within walking distance (although there may be one). Searching for ';arboretum'; in the hotel name will get you into the area. Ausitn is hard without a car also, so you may want to take that hit if not staying at the Renaissance is very important to you. There is a Homestead Suites within a couple of miles of the Renaissance that would probably work pretty well and be much cheaper.

At the near top of this page look at the tab to the far right. Click the Maps, etc. tab.

When the next page comes up, look in the center of the page under the long green bar and click ';Map the most popular area hotels';. Try to find the Renaissance on the map then look for hotels and Bed and Breakfasts around that hotel.

Hotels are shown first, but you then go to the left side of the page and click B%26amp;B tab. Maybe this method may help you find a more good choices. The distances are not as far as they may first appear. Enjoy your trip.

There are several cheaper chain hotels in the area (Bradford Home Suites for one) but walking would be a bit treacherous- it is all highway and access roads, no much in the way of sidewalks or accomodations for walking.

Thanks to one and all. it looks like the closest acording to mapquest is Embassy Suites which is 1.24 miles . It also looks like it is not very pedestrian friendly. Cost wise kind of a push when you add a rental car to the less expensive properties. Thanks again
