My dear friend would like a casual steak dinner for his B/day..I have been to Saltgrass and enjoyed it,but never to Outback...Both of us are rib-eye lovers..In this case size does matter......Or perhaps there is a better place in the mid 20 range.......
Outback vs Saltgrass
i%26#39;ve been to Outback, but i didn%26#39;t have a steak, so i can%26#39;t say if it%26#39;s better....i just know the food (shrimp dish) i did have at Outback wasn%26#39;t that great, and i%26#39;ve been to Saltgrass many times and always had wonderful steaks - cooked perfectly. i vote for Saltgrass!
Outback vs Saltgrass
I don%26#39;t know their prices, but what about Little Rhein Steak House...or don%26#39;t you want to go to the river?
Except for Roys, I%26#39;ve never been much of an Outback fan.
I have eaten hundreds of times at Outback in many many locations including Alaska, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Hong Kong, Beijing China, etc. I eat at Outback because it is often the only choice for a moderate price steak in a particular city and I am often glad to find Outback .
However for service and good food I definitely prefer Saltgrass Steakhouse. The bread is much tastier, the side dishes are much better ( because they are fresher and better prepared), and the service is more friendly, professional and accommodating. The atmosphere is more upscale at Saltgrass with the raging fireplace and the seating more comfortable. I believe prices are comparable but Saltgrass has good lunch specials with reduced portion size and they have a senior menu until 7pm. Gee I wish there were more Saltgrass locations because I would always eat there.
I love Josephine Street for steak!
Josephie Street is in the mid teens price range. In the mid-twenties, I would suggest Barn Door - 8400 N New Braunfels. They%26#39;ll put his name on the marquee if you call ahead.
What%26#39;s up O%26#39;Boy??....What steak do you recommend?..Does it come with a salad and tater?..Portion size?..Liquor license?...Have always wanted to try the joint across the street.........
Just wanna chime in because if you%26#39;re looking for another great place for a steak try JAlexanders. The entire menu is amazing and the Prime Rib is probably one of the best in San Antonio. Same quality as a Ruths Chris but around 30-40% less expensive.
