Help!

We are flying in a day early for a cruise out of Galveston. I don%26#39;t know if it would be cheaper to stay a hotel close to the airport and shuttle/taxi (?) to Galveston the day the ship sails or go directly to Galveston and spend the night and then get a taxi to the port. The shuttles are kind of pricey. Any input would be appreciated!

Help!

You can probably get some reasonable rates at Galveston hotels right now - off season. Holiday Inn Sunspree doesn%26#39;t look bad.

Help!

There have also been posts about favorable rental cars from (I think) Enterprise designed specifically for folks flying into Houston and cruising form Galveston.

If you have not already left for your cruise, I would recomend

staying in Galveston the night before. Depending on the day of the

week, the traffic from hobby airport , across the causeway, to Galveston can be highly unpredictable. Houston traffic can be a

nightmare, so just to be safe, drive on down to Galveston when you

can take a leisurely pace, and ot worry about being late for the

boat. You do not want to miss your boat!

Some of the Galveston hotels and motels offer cruise ship

specials, etc. such as the Holiday Inn, the name brand ones, and some have shuttles to take you there that morning.

Have a nice trip!
