downtown eats, best bang for the buck?

Am going down to SA in 2 days %26amp; staying downtown so wuld like some good advice on great spots for entertainment %26amp; eating at night within downtown

downtown eats, best bang for the buck?

Need a little more info - are we talking upscale? unique San Antonio attractions? off the beaten path? Texas music? main stream pop/country music? cheap drinking? Mexican touristy?

downtown eats, best bang for the buck?

Yea... I would like to know too. We are simple people, not upscale. Just good family dining. Salmon and steaks? And a good Mexican restaurant as well.

here%26#39;s some places off the top of my head in no particular order....

on the riverwalk:

$ - Zuni Grill for apetizers %26amp; great cactus margaritas! Rio Rio for nachos %26amp; ritas. Mad Dog%26#39;s, D*ck%26#39;s Last Resort, Pat O%26#39;brien%26#39;s for beer/burgers/fried things

$$ - boudro%26#39;s for great steaks/seafood with a Southwestern flair: http://www.boudros.com/boudros/

$$$ - Pesca - more upscale: http://www.watermarkhotel.com/restaurant/

$$$$ - as seen on the Travel Channel, Las Canarias at La Mansion: omnihotels.com/FindAHotel/…Dining.aspx

nightspots: Howl at the Moon (piano bar), Poly Esters (retro dance club), Swig (martini bar), RiverCenter (Mall) Comedy Club

slightly off the riverwalk: Houston Street has many fine restaurants and a little further away south is El Mirador %26amp; Rosarios for excellent Tex-Mex food with good atmosphere. I don%26#39;t recommend any Tex-Mex restaurants on the Riverwalk for your main dinner....just apetizers. Here%26#39;s another restaurant with good country cooking just north of downtown: Liberty Bar: http://www.liberty-bar.com/
