LaPorte or Baytown La Quinta

Hello,

I%26#39;m flying into Hobby Airport and staying one night, and getting on a cruise the next day at Houston Port in La Porte. I%26#39;m thinking of the LaPorte or Baytown La Quinta. Which hotel is nicer, and in a safe area? Or would it be better to stay closer to Houston? Looking for a no frills hotel, clean and safe, with breakfast. Also, I need to find somewhere for dinner, I have a few hours to kill during the day, and I will have a car...any suggestions?
