Billy Bob's - Fort Worth

another question!

We wanted to visit Billy Bob%26#39;s as well. I have checked their web site and see that they have concerts....are they usually in the main ';bar area'; or in a separate concert area? Just wondering if we should be buying concert tickets now to avoid missing out on the main attraction the evening we are there. I have no idea how the hall is arranged or how much time we should allow there. We had intended to spend a whole Saturday in Fort Worth.

Billy Bob%26#39;s is huge. The main concert area has seating for several thousand people. There are long rectangular tables that seat about 20 people each lined up in about six rows of 15 to 20 tables.

People who buy tickets to the concert have seating in the concert area and are served beer/drinks by wait staff. If the musicians are someone you care then you would want to buy tickets to the concert area. If you want tickets definitely buy them as soon as possible. Main line act tickets go pretty quickly and some of the seats do not have good views.

Here%26#39;s the link to the seating chart. www.billybobstexas.com/seating-chart.htm

The building is L-shaped with the rodeo area, pool tables, and shops on one arm of the L, and the main stage and houseband area on the other arm of the L with a restaurant tucked behind the houseband area.

There are several bar areas where you can either be waited on or go to the bar directly for drinks.

If you get to Billy Bob%26#39;s by 7 or 8 you will have plenty of time there. They are open late. I believe the shops are open until 1 AM and the bars close at 2 or so. I would not eat at Billy Bob%26#39;s but would take the opportunity to eat at a better food choice and just have drinks at Billy Bob%26#39;s.

Every night the house band plays both before and after the main stage band. The house bands vary, they%26#39;re not really house bands in the sense that they play every day, but in the sense that they play frequently and aren%26#39;t main stage bands. Dwight Yoakum, the Bellamy Brothers, Robert Earl Keen, Hank Williams, Jr., etc., are main stage type bands.

If you buy general admission tickets, you can still hear the music, but you don%26#39;t have a close view of the musicians. The main concert area is bordered on the back by the second stage area with a dance floor. You can have a distant (200 or so feet) straight line view of the stage if there aren%26#39;t a zillion other people in front of you.

As always, ChrystinP is right on target. Billy Bob%26#39;s is a terrific venue- one of the best in the area. You will have a terrific musical experience and meet some great folks. Go by the White Elephant as well. Good bands there and lots of fun. Cattlemen%26#39;s is a classic Stockyards restaurant- good chicken fried steak- good steaks- old time, classic atmosphere.

Thanks so much for all of your help! Now I can hardly wait to get there. :)
