Grapevine to Fort Worth Cab

Does anyone have a ballpark figure of what cab fare from Grapevine to Fort Worth would be? After seeing what%26#39;s at the Stockyards for evening entertainment, I%26#39;m thinking we should grab a cab!!

Here%26#39;s a page with approximate fares from DFW Airport to various locations. I am going to guesstimate $75-80 (?) for your hotel to the Stockyards.

If a cab is too costly both ways, maybe you could get the hotel to take you to the airport and then take the airport bus to the train station and take the train over to FTW. On one of the recent threads I posted all the info on getting from the airport to the TRE.

Only problem with trying to use the TRE for late night transportation is the schedule. Since it is mainly designed as a commuter rail, it quits running around 1030PM.

Also remember TRE does not run on Sundays. As an international destination we need train service every day. Who can we contact to fix this scheduling error?

I wasn%26#39;t suggesting the TRE on the return portion, just the outbound portion.

When the state Democratic convention was held in Fort Worth this past year, they ran a late train for attendees (late being 11:00PM) , but that%26#39;s the only time I%26#39;ve known them to do that.

I don%26#39;t know what the rationale is for no TRE on Sundays. It may be as simple as having to pay double-time to the operators. Or possibly it wasn%26#39;t getting enough traffic to warrant running it. The only thing I can suggest is calling/writing the transit authority.

Because these folks are going on Saturday (why do I think that), they should be able to get to Fort Worth via the TRE easily and at least save a chunk of change. Plus the train is fun and allows you to see the beautiful Texas landscape.

I am sure tanfanattic appreciates the clarifications. Since the TRE is a commuter line, it is easy for visitors to mistake it for a regular mass transit option. It is alot of fun to take it, espcially with kids who don%26#39;t get to ride trains very often.
